A key principal of TCM is that people can have all sorts of health issues without enough Original Yang which is usually at a high level until the age of about 35 and slowly drops to zero upon death.  That helps explain why people under 30 to 35 rarely have serious health issues in general. Original Yang can do all great things and the most important function is to warm the coldness in human bodies.

In Dr. Zhang’s view，coldness is the number one pathogen in the United States which invades the body from many different ways including cold drink/food, cold weather and even the air conditioner that runs at a low temperature in the summer. When there is not enough Original Yang to warm the coldness in human body, a blockage forms within the meridians. Consequently more Qi and blood rush to the blocked site in order to get rid of the blockages, but this often creates more congestions if the body does not have enough Original Yang to clear away the coldness. Unable to push the accumulation away, extra Qi and blood stuck at the blocked site leads to bigger blockages and ultimately the formation of accumulated mass---tumor. Clinical studies show that more than 70% of cancer patients have been found to have cold constitutions.

Dr. Zhang’s recommendation to tonify Original Yang includes the use of Chinese herbs and moxibustion. People over 35 are highly recommended to tonify Original Yang on a regular basis.

An organic chemist with about 20 year’s laboratory experience was diagnosed with bladder cancer at a young age of 40.  Top oncologists in both China and the United States predicted that his bladder cancer would come back for two reasons: first, the recurrence rate of bladder cancer is about 70-80%; second, this chemist was exposed to some organic chemicals including aniline-derivative compounds which are proved cancer inducers and immuno-suppressants in the past.  According to an oncologist: “you have planted some cancer seeds and only one has sprouted.  More sprouts are just on the way”.  Miraculously, this previous organic chemist has been cancer free since 2010, Why?

Within 6 months after the tumor was removed, this patient started to develop severe psoriasis all over his skin which he is still fighting with. Consumption of over a thousand pounds of Chinese herbal medicine ever since, his psoriasis appears to be on and off while his bladder cancer seems to be in full remission.  Is that a pure coincidence?

 

Psoriasis and cancer all fall into the autoimmune disease category and they share some similarities. The uncontrolled epithelial cell growth on skin leads to psoriasis due to the overreacted immune system’s unprecise attack compared with the uncontrolled growth in the lining of internal organs suffered from weak immune system could lead to cancer. Another important feature is that they both have abundant spiral blood vessels, significantly higher than any other tissues in the human body. Different from regular blood vessels, spiral blood vessels are literally open systems where the blood within is leaking in all directions which explains the metastasis of cancer. Although more research is yet to be done to show the correlation between the psoriasis and cancer, from Dr. Zhang’s point of view, coaxing the cancerous cells from internal organs to the psoriasis on skin and taking advantage of overreacted immune system to kill the cancerous cells could be a potential cancer treatment method. Primarily a cosmetic concern, psoriasis nonetheless is not a life threatening disease which means inducing internal pathogens from organs to skin might reduce the potential to become a cancer patient or a cancer survivor’s recurrence.

Dr. Zhang’s recommended ways to implement the above strategy include the use of Chinese herbal medicine and immune system boosters.

Dr. Vesley’s publications suggest that 4 out of 6 heart enzymes/peptides can be potential cancer killers.

 

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, heart is considered the king of all organs which means if heart is not in a good condition, all other organs could also be in poor condition. In practice, Dr. Zhang discovered some common features of cancer patients. For instance, they all have a very weak heart pulse and the majority of cancer patients suffered from certain frustrations, including divorce, unemployment or financial stress before they were diagnosed as cancer patients. From Dr. Zhang’s point of view, compromised heart spirit can be one of the major reasons that lead to weaker immune system which could not prevent cancer cell proliferation.
